Dawn Fish is the base of an enormous Koi fish that is hanging in Bernie’s Bungalow in downtown Anchorage, Alaska. This piece is dear to me because a photo of my friend playing guitar in front of it in the early stages immortalized it for me. Only a few know that underneath the giant, powerful koi jumping from the dawn rainbows is a quiet and calm sun.
This painting brings new beginnings to a space, and attention to the base structures underneath creativity that help us thrive.
